Clean, Green & Healthy Mumbai!

Transforming Mumbai Through Community and Care

I Love Mumbai is a leading non-profit organization founded in 1989 by Late Padmashree Nana Chudasama , a visionary civic leader and former Sheriff of Mumbai. The organization was born from his passion to create a city that is clean, green, and livable for all citizens. He coined the now-iconic slogan: “Clean, Green & Healthy Mumbai” which continues to guide the organization’s mission and efforts.

For over three decades, I Love Mumbai has been at the forefront of environmental sustainability and urban beautification. The NGO focuses on tree plantation, heritage conservation, urban restoration, sanitation, and public awareness . One of its flagship initiatives is the free distribution of over 50,000 saplings every year , encouraging citizens, schools, housing societies, and corporate offices to contribute to a greener Mumbai.

Beyond environmental work, the organization has led the illumination and upkeep of heritage buildings , such as the Rajabai Tower, Asiatic Library, Wilson College , and the Police Headquarters , bringing attention to Mumbai’s rich architectural legacy and cultural history.

I Love Mumbai has also been actively involved in projects like the beautification of Marine Drive promenade , installation of public sanitation facilities , and indoor plant exhibitions to promote greener indoor spaces in urban homes and offices.

A landmark achievement of the NGO was the restoration of Byculla Railway Station , a major heritage project completed in collaboration with renowned architect Abha Lamba . This effort was recognized internationally and earned appreciation from UNESCO for preserving Mumbai’s historical infrastructure.

Through community involvement, collaboration with civic bodies, and a deep commitment to urban improvement, I Love Mumbai continues to play a vital role in shaping a healthier, cleaner, and more beautiful Mumbai. The NGO is actively supported by trustees, volunteers, and citizens who share the late Nana Chudasama’s legacy of civic pride and social responsibility.
